Make Moments More Beautiful Than They Really Are

Make moments even more beautiful than they really are

Life is a fantastic collection of events. Making these events and moments even more beautiful than they are is something that really reconciles us with nature. For most of our lives, we rush from one stressful activity to another. This can lead to general discomfort, vital dissatisfaction, work stress and anxiety. It ultimately produces a state of mind that no one would ever choose voluntarily.

Anyone can experience stressful moments. Anyone can feel exhausted, overwhelmed and ultimately sad. Situations that should be rare aspects of our lives are becoming more frequent. Somehow this stress drags us down until we get stuck in it. Eventually we will wake up and say, “How does it feel to enjoy life again? How can I make my life more beautiful than it is?” These are the moments we used to enjoy so much and for which we forgot the recipe at some point.

What does making moments more beautiful mean?

Beautifying moments is a skill of emotional regulation that can be developed through various approaches. These include positive psychology or dialectical behavior therapy for personality disorders used by the psychologist Marsha M. Linehan.

We say this is a skill of emotional regulation because it encompasses all behaviors and thoughts aimed at stimulating a sense of well-being and reducing negative emotions, such as anger, fear or frustration. Being able to make moments more beautiful is a very useful skill to approach daily obligations and situations more positively.

Making your daily obligations more beautiful

1. Live in the present moment

First of all, making moments more beautiful is a skill that requires you to isolate yourself somewhat from the past and the future. In that sense, mindfulness training can help. It is about being able to stop and observe and accept what you are currently experiencing as you go about your daily tasks.

Being able to live in the present moment is the first step to re-membering that forgotten recipe we talked about earlier. In those “delicate” moments, try to gain a deep understanding of your feelings, your environment, and the sensations that the movements you make. Also the sensations created by the stimuli that have an effect on you, such as the water during your morning shower.

2. Changes…who talked about being afraid?

The influence of your environment on your behavior and your emotions has been extensively studied by the Environmental Psychology group. To take advantage of this influence, you first need to learn a little more about how your environment is set up. What is the environment in which you perform your daily tasks and chores? Several studies explain how organized environments, with natural lighting and familiar objects that remind us of good times, enhance our well-being and improve our performance.

Introducing new images, or bringing them within your reach, will help you beautify the moments in your life. Especially if these images remind you of your goals or achievements. They will increase your sense of well-being. You can also strategically place phrases in your personal space that will motivate you. Or phrases that remind you why you chose the path you are on at that moment. So you improve your motivation and increase your effort and perseverance.

Instead, remove objects or images that lead to negative thoughts or feelings. Detecting the presence of objects that do not convey good sensations or evoke bad memories and put them out of your sight will also improve your well-being.

Keep in mind that performing routine and boring tasks is easier if you do them in a welcoming environment. An environment that induces tranquility and in which you feel ‘at home’.

3. Make sure you have the best resources to work and study

Being selective with the materials or resources you use can be a very positive aspect in your life. This is a small gesture of affection for yourself. If you need to study, it is best to use notes that are pleasing to the eye, colorful, and have clear and sharp images. Make sure that you can use the best resources for both your work and your studies. This will improve your performance and motivation. Some people think that investing time in these aspects is a waste of time. If so, however, they are completely wrong.

If, on the other hand, you have already finished your studies and you have landed a job, make sure that you also have the best work materials, the ones you like the most. Make sure you have all the necessary elements to perform your tasks efficiently. Having materials that you enjoy and that make your job easier will help you focus positively on your work tasks.

For example, if you use a calendar, a folder, and a computer, it will make your work more enjoyable if they are aesthetically pleasing. You’ll want to use them just by looking at them! For example, you can choose a background image that will inspire you. Something that will arouse positive emotions. If you can listen to music at work, don’t hesitate to do so! Music improves your performance and mood and increases your creativity.

4. Take care of your daily habits down to the last detail

Meals tend to create shared moments that are usually very enjoyable. Therefore, these are wonderful opportunities to make life even more beautiful. To improve your general well-being, it can be very useful to pay close attention to the details of your meals. Making sure the food looks appealing, setting the table nicely, putting flowers or candles, etc. Even if you’re just doing all of this for yourself. It will ensure that you can enjoy every moment to the fullest.

All these small details are perceived by your mind and will gradually begin to fill you with positive emotions and motivation. In that sense , making these moments more beautiful gives you the opportunity to make use of your routine. Of course, it takes effort to take care of the details of your life. But it is an effort well worth it. It has a positive impact on yourself and the people you love.
